Welcome To HRBC

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as in the habit of some, but encouraging one another, all the more as you see the Day drawing near. – Hebrews 10:24-25
Welcome new visitors to HRBC. It is our prayer and purpose to help people grow closer to Jesus. If you are looking for a church home or have any questions about who Jesus is, we want to serve you. Hey HRBC! You ready to open up???

A lot of us are. However, let’s state right here and now that if for any reason you do not feel safe in getting out just yet, we want you to stay home. Worship services will still be shown on Facebook Live and later uploaded to our You Tube channel; please do not feel pressured to show up.

But…if you’re ready….we are now free to open our worship center, this Sunday, May 24th at 10:15 AM.
English service is at 10:30 AM; Spanish service is at 12:00 PM.
As mentioned in previous emails, we are taking necessary precautions:

1. We will be using gloves and masks in greeting folks.

2. Entrance to the facility will be restricted to three doors: NE, SW, and main entrance on Hampton Road.

3. The only open restrooms will be the ones downstairs, off the main (Foyer) (North) entrance of HRBC, just off the foyer. The others will be closed off as well as all other rooms.

4. Occupants in the elevator will be limited per trip.

5. Blankets will be available for those who need them, but will be washed each week here at the church.

6. Sanctuary pews will be marked off to allow for 6-foot social distancing. Of course, family households may sit closer together. The balcony will be open and set up in like manner.

7. Congregants are welcome to wear masks, but these will not be required.

8. Hand sanitizer will be readily available.

9. The church will be thoroughly cleaned prior to Sunday.

10. There will not be any childcare. But please do feel free to bring your children to worship. There will be a monitor showing the service in the coffee bar; parents are welcome to take their little ones there and sit with them if the service proves to be too much for little attention spans.

Sunday School in-house will not begin again until mid-June. Choir is not resuming at this time; we will issue a road alert when the time is right.

Office hours are back to normal, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM ’til 5:00 PM. Fridays are 8:00 AM ’til noon. However, building access will still be restricted, so please call prior to showing up.

We’re ready to go and look forward to seeing each and every one of you that can attend. Our utmost concern throughout this quarantine has been the welfare of our church family.

We love you!
Your HRBC Staff

Worship The Lord In Giving

Faith and finances are inseparable; you cannot divide them. When we give our tithes and offerings, we are reminded of how much God has done in each and every one of our lives. He is the ultimate provider and sustainer. He not only deserves the highest praise, but our first fruits. As Randy Alcorn says, “The more we give, the more we delight in our giving- and the more God delights in us. Our giving pleases us. But more importantly, it pleases God.”

HRBC 2020/2021 Proposed Budget

Road M.A.P.

HRBC’s 2020/2021

Stewardship Presentation

Proposed Budget

For the 2020/2021 fiscal year, the Stewardship Committee is recommending no change from the revised budget of $769,200.30 to the 2020/2021 fiscal year.  HRBC uses the Ministry Action Planning (M.A.P). M.A.P. is a zero-based model of ministry budgeting that looks at ministry needs of the current year and the resources available to the church.  The Stewardship Committee feels that this budget for 2020/2021 ($769,200.30) best represents our church.

The budget is a guideline.  It provides direction to the church based on the reality of limited resources—a financial Road Map supporting a spiritual vision for Hampton Road and our community.  It insures the integrity of the day-to-day financial affairs of the church and grows us as a fellowship of believers while ministering to the needs of our community.  We trust God’s provision, but we must also exercise good stewardship.  Our budget is based on our best estimate of the provision with which God is currently blessing us.  God is unlimited; the resources of His church are finite.  The budget provides direction for the wise management of God’s treasure.  Still, it is only a guideline.  Budgets cannot mandate church ministry objectives.  The budget, ultimately, is not about money; it is about ministry, to and by, real people.  It is a Road Map from where we are to where we need to be.  Budgets do not dictate how to proceed; they remind us of the resources God provides.  Where we go from here is a factor of our obedience to God’s will.

We are asking that you, Hampton Road members, strategically pray over this budget and the Stewardship Committee for the wellbeing of this church.   If you vote to approve this budget you also pledge to support it with your prayers and with your resources.

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
